Meeting MCR

So me and my niece Lena arrived in Stuttgart yesterday at 3pm, after a almost 7 hour journey with the train from Austria. I had won a Special Ticket so we decided not to queue cos we had front row anyway. We checked out the city for a bit and then just before 6pm we went to the venue, where we only had to wait about 10mins at that VIP entrance. Mehdi (MCR’s security for those who don’t know) was there and I waved and he came over to say hi. I’ve met him at every gig now and I had given him the flag for Ray at the Vienna gig when the band was looking for it. So I asked him if he had gotten it and he told me YES and that they were super excited about it and that they are planning to put it up in their band room/studio back home. <3 He was super lovely and we talked for a bit, then we both had to go (him to work and me to get my wristband etc)

We got a spot right next to the catwalk :) and I met Steffi and Nadine aka the nicest people you could wish for at a MCR gig. We had so much fun and joked around, smoked and listened to that AWESOME music Coke provided lol. We saw Ray and Frank leaving for an interview and when I went to the toilet Mr Pedicone was walking right behind me for like 5 secs haha. Anyway, One Night Only were cool, they reminded me of that whole indie scene that I liked 7-5 years ago. And THEN. The host guy, I think his name was Jan…dunno came on stage to announce MCR and he got ppl to scream and stuff. Then he kinda stopped right infront of me on the catwalk and he asked if there were ppl who travelled for MCR and I jumped up and down and Lena was like pointing at me so he held the microphone to my mouth and asked me about the gigs I’ve been to. So I talked into the microphone and my super amazing (NOT) face was shown on that big fucking screen lol. Then he asked me if I ever met the band and I said ‘Only Frank!’ and he asked me why I love them and I said ‘Cos MCR are the best band in the world’ (in my austrian accent lol) and everyone cheered. And then…..he was like ‘Well…I think you deserve to meet the whole band…tonight…’ And he gave me those two VIP passes that said ‘Meet & Greet MCR’ on the back and…….well I almost died there and then. SERIOUSLY. You cannot imagine how I felt in that very moment. My niece was screaming and hugging me, so where Steffi and Nadine and they kept saying ‘you deserve it so much’ and I had tears in my eyes, I just kept saying ‘omg omg omg omg’ I JUST COULDN’T BELIEVE IT. I felt like I was someone else for a moment and not myself cos I thought…..DAMN ANNA WTF WHY ARE YOU SO LUCKY?!?!?!? And then MCR came on stage and it was amazing as always. For the first time though, I wanted a gig to end because of the meet&greet. But then I freaked out when they played ‘Kids’ alskdjflas and during the whole gig, Steffi, Nadine and Lena kept smiling at me, just being so happy for me.

And then the gig was over and we were told to wait at the side of the stage. This annoying woman picked us up and wanted to tell us that MCR are assholes. She was like ‘Oh they act all rockstar and annoying etc.’ And I just thought to myself ‘Well you’re a bitch. So of course they’re annoyed, cos I am too’ Anyway, she brought us to the Red Room where we were told to wait. A few other ppl who had won Red Room tickets were there too but it was basically just a room with free drinks from Coca Cola and well One Night Only showed up and had their 5mins of fame haha. Lena and me had to wait for about 30mins and then the annoying woman picked us up again (there were two other girls who had won a Meet & Greet beforehand in a contest) and took us back to the stage. First, they wanted to do the Meet & Greet on stage but they didn’t then. We had to wait there for a bit, then Mehdi came and brought us backstage. Where they had lots of yummy food and yeah we had to wait another 5mins or so. Mehdi told us what NOT to do…and well he was referring to the incident with Frank being licked by a so-called fan. And let me tell you something very important right now: he told us that they band seriously thought about NEVER doing Meet & Greets again. Yes. Due to a stupid, disrespectful fangirl who clearly has boundary issues (and others, obviously). They will be ALOT more careful in the future and limit the number of ppl who actually get to meet them. I would say ‘Next time, think about how much you are ruining for other fans, when you do such a stupid thing’ but those hysteric fangirls don’t think. And they certainly don’t think about other fans. 
But anyway. I stood right next to the door and then they came out and Gerard was first and I was like uuuummmm but smiled and he smiled at me and came right at me and shook my hand and he was so lovely he just went ‘Hiii, I’m Gerard, how are you??’ And I just went ‘Hi……..I’m Anna….I’m….great!’ fail. I couldn’t even look him in the eyes it was just…too much. Then Mikey was next and I went ‘Hi Mikey!!’ And he smiled all shy Mikey-like and shook my hand too. Then Frank. He looked at me like OOOH all big eyed and went ‘Oh HI AGAIN!’ And I giggled a bit and said ‘Hey Frank nice to see you again lol’ and we shook hands too and then RAY….Ray so pretty. He went ‘Oh it’s sooo nice to meet you’ and said something about the Japan video but I didn’t really catch it but yeah so lovely. Then Gerard came back to me and I was like….’Gerard…could you like do me a huge favour…’ And he was like ‘Sure what is it?’ and I said ‘Well me and my best friend are gonna get the lyrics of Summertime tattooed. She’s gonna get ‘You can run away with me’ and I’m gonna get ‘Anytime you want’ and we kinda want it in your handwriting so I was wondering if you could write it down for me pls?’ And he was like ‘Oh SURE, yeah sure that’s AWESOME!’ and I gave him a piece of paper and he started writing and just went ‘That’s so cool!’ while writing and he was so lovely omg. And then they all signed my Na sign and also one for Judith (who couldn’t come!) and all the time while signing I talked to them and no one else talked so they all kinda ended up standing with me and Lena and I talked and talked. And then I told Ray THANK YOU again for putting me in the video and he smiled and he was so happy and said ‘No thank YOU!’ and Frank said ‘No SERIOUSLY, Anna, thank you so so much, we couldn’t have done it without your submission!’ And I said ‘It’s the most beautiful thing ever and I’m so proud to be part of it, it’s just a huge honour!’ And Gerard just went ‘Awww awwww that’s so nice!’ Mikey just smiled at me. And they asked if I liked the gig and obviously I said yes!! And then we talked about the Vienna gig and how awesome that was they all just went ‘YES VIENNA WAS SO AMAZING!!’ and then I asked Ray again about the flag and he was like ‘It’s the nicest thing ever, thank you so much, we’re gonna put it somewhere special!’ And Gerard went ‘Yes we will! It’s such a nice thing to do!’ (Gerard was kinda always talking to me although I was talking to Ray and Frank, but Gerard always wanted to get involved lol attention whore!) And then Gerard went ‘Let’s take a picture!’ and he got next to me. And then while the woman got ready to take the picture I asked Gerard if it was okay if I also put my arm around him…I THOUGHT I’D ASK, RIGHT. And he was like ‘Sure! Yes!’ All nice and so I did, I put my arm around his shoulder and we kinda stood there like that for 30secs til the pics were taken and then he squeezed me a bit and I said ‘Thank you!’ and he just went ‘No thank you!’ and then we all thanked each other and shook hands again and said Bye and smiles all around.

Talking about it now feels unreal but it is real because I see the picture. Let me just tell you: they all are SO VERY LOVELY. Even Mikey, who doesn’t really talk, so attentive and interested in everything I had to say. Frank gives you the most welcoming, warm smile, Ray is just….Ray! And Gerard is so lovely. He’s an absolute sweetheart and really pays attention and I can’t believe he wrote the lyrics down for me and he was so excited and yeah. Just awesome. I don’t have words. They’re just the best band ever. Hands down. I could write about them and how awesome they are forever.
